In many traditional cultures, women are bound to the home as the center of life. Not a dwelling, but a place where life is born and preserved, where grain becomes bread and chaos becomes order. A woman with a grain grinder is an image of quiet strength, creating in the shadows. Her daily labor, routine, monotonous, patient, makes the continuation of family life possible. Without her, there is no bread, no life.
